A Beautiful Lady
December 13, 2022
Once upon a time, there used to live a beautiful lady. Everyone in her town used to greet her, saying, "You are an angel, my lady," "You are the charm of nature," and "Having your presence makes the air seem to taste sweet." Everywhere she went in this town, she used to get this same appeal.
That town was always full of good fellows and flocks, and they treated everyone kindly. Regardless of the blossoming, happy way she was greeted, she always had a doubt deep inside her thoughts.
Because she lived in a mirrorless world, she thought:
"Oh God, why do You torture me so much? Am I really beautiful? But how can I know myself if I don't have a device to look at myself?"
She was so frustrated by not knowing how she looked, she went on a quest to find worlds with mirrors. Was she really beautiful? Would she find it?
She thought:
"Oh, this lovely town, you people flatter me, but I ought to find out if I deserve the appeal. My Lord, show me the way to a world of mirrors."
She traveled far and wide, crossed oceans and seas, and traveled to different worlds, but she had yet to find a world with mirrors.
I. The World of Mirrors
Finally, she found a world that had a mirror!
She went and saw herself in the mirror. She stood petrified; the horror was so great and terrifying. The monster in front of her frightened her.
She ran fast away, toward the town flocks, but she only saw monsters. Everyone there was a horror. She ran far away, leaving that mirror world.
She cried:
"Oh Lord, why did You annex my mind with this curse? Now I live in doubt—my doubt of self."
A beautiful lady she was. She went back to her hometown, and everyone greeted her as usual.
